The journey began with some disappointments, owing to the great aspirations and sense of anticipation that had been instilled in the people's minds. Being delayed is hardly something that someone who is anxious or restless in anticipation of something amazing would desire, but that is exactly what the traffic police did— The first half hour of the journey was tedious due to frequent and inconvenient traffic police encounters.
After that, the voyage became really thrilling as the might finales sang along to the song of the day's (DJ Cool - Indedi ft Tuno) favorite line; "Komaliza agide, komaliza agide." More songs that made the day included Kizz Daniel's Buga and many other Amapiano songs—the most popular genre—that were also played.
When we took a short break on the road, one of the finales (Venom) came out of the bus with his bluetooth speaker and began dancing to uMlando by the side of the road. At this moment, everyone was convinced that we were going to have a good time.
We continued our journey after that, listening to various songs and some finales still chanting the most well-known athems of any other LUANAR students trip. We made another (lengthy) stop in Salima, this time at the Chipiku Plus, where I would say they were really fortunate to be visited by the Mighty Finales.
Everyone could sense that the most awaited journey to Kabumba was now a certainty. We continued our journey with a few more stops since we needed to get some meat for braai—a braai stand was already luring from the coaster's roof.
We arrived much earlier than most of the finales expected, around 8 a.m. It was a lovely experience for both those who had previously visited the lake and those who were seeing it for the first time. It was as if you could hear the lake calling out, "Come get soaking!"

It was now up to everyone to do whatever they had come here for; some dressed up and went to play beach soccer, while others went early to dive into the enticing waters of our Calendar lake, and still others were simply lounging along the beach. For those who wished to travel further on the lake, there was also the option of taking a boat excursion.

The excitement peaked in the afternoon, when the Dj had pulled the crowd from all around the beach with songs that were very irritating for someone to not dance. The likes of Che Patuma by Atoht Manje, Nyaness' Mikanda and Akamwile by Fikisa, but that was just the beginning. Ironically, the fun became electric when the electricity went out, and the mighty finales improvised by forming a circle singing there own which left all other people with a big gasp.
When the electricity was restored, the meat was ready, and it was now a combination of eating and dancing—which caused those who were overly enthusiastic about dancing to miss the most of the meat.
After all of the dancing on the beach and in the water, it was time for the great finales to return to their nest— for we were there not for a long time, but for a good time. It felt like a romantic parting or good-bye because it left many others who had been delighted by our presence disappointed and wondering, in reference to the upcoming Mother's Day holiday, "Are you going to be here again on the 17th?"
